Bury South’s Labour MP Ivan Lewis is calling on small businesses and the public  to support ‘Small Business Saturday’ on 7 December 2013 in Bury South.

Small Business Saturday is a grass roots campaign that encourages people to shop locally and support small businesses in the local community.

Ivan Lewis said “Small Business Saturday is a great idea. It helps create increased spending on the high street and helps small businesses network with each other. It also highlights the importance of small businesses to their local communities and the importance of entrepreneurship to the local economy.”

We are fortunate to have so many exceptional small businesses in the area and I written to many of them and Bury Chamber of Commerce to make them aware of Small Business Saturday.”

“Small Business Saturday is taking place on 7 December 2013, the busiest shopping day of the year, and I would urge residents in Prestwich Whitefield Unsworth and Radcliffe to support local businesses in their community.”

More information about the Small Business Saturday initiative can be found at www.smallbusinesssaturday.co.uk.
