Local campaigner and St Mary’s Ward Candidate for the May 22nd local elections Eamonn O’Brien has called upon residents to join him in signing the Bury Street Care pledge. The Pledge is all about looking after our environment, reducing litter and promoting recycling. The aim is to make Bury a cleaner, safer, greener place for all who live, work and visit the Borough.
Eamonn, who recently organised a local community clean-up day in St Mary’s, said: “Whilst the Council’s street cleaning team does a great job each week in Prestwich they can’t be everywhere. This is especially true now since we face massive cuts to our budget from the Lib Dems and Tories in the Coalition Government. I think we should all try doing our part, however small, to keep our streets and green spaces clean and tidy.”
