Labour campaigns for lower energy bills!
Labour Councillors Elizabeth FitzGerald (Besses) and Alan Quinn (Sedgley) joined other Labour members to campaign for lower energy bills in Bury Town Centre last weekend.
Cllr Quinn said ‘The average gas and electricity bill has increased by £300 since the Tories took power in 2010 whilst wages have flatlined’.
Bury shoppers signed the petition and were pleased to hear about Ed Miliband’s pledge to freeze prices until 2017 if Labour win the next election.
Cllr FitzGerald added, ‘Labour’s pledge shows we are on the side of ordinary families and understand the pressures on their finances. Our policies offer a tangible way to help everyone instead of tax cuts for millionaires.’
