Labour Campaigner John Mallon deliver for Trees Estate!

Posted on:

Following a long campaign on behalf of the residents of the Trees Estate in Whitefield, John Mallon Labour’s local campaigner has succeeded in securing the installation of much needed traffic signals at the junction of Chestnut Avenue and Bury New Road (A56).

The hard work which had been dedicated in this campaign has now paid off. John has kept this road improvement project on Bury Council’s agenda over several years and has represented the concerns and views of the residents of the estate throughout this time.

John said “The Labour Party in Pilkington Park have always recognised the need to improve the Chestnut Avenue junction. We had promised the residents that we would continue to work for and represent them at every level we could. Today that promise has been kept and fulfilled.”

Ivan Lewis said “This would not have happened if it was not for the perseverance and dedication of John Mallon. If this is the type of work John does as a community activist, imagine what he will do for residents when he is a local councillor in Pilkington Park.”
